Medium Format Magazine - Project Faroe Islands
I’m delighted to say that my relationship with Medium Format Magazine continues to grow.
My latest contribution to this excellent magazine is an interview for their ‘Project’ feature.
In the interview I answer questions about a commission I shot on the Faroe Islands, for Land Rover.
We spent close to a week shooting the Discovery Sport in various locations on the islands. We also made some portraits in the rain and shot some delicious and unusual food too.
In the article I talk about my photographic passions and the challenges of location automotive photography.
I talk about the creative and visual process of photographing cars, and also the relationship with the client with regards to that aspect of the project.
I also discuss the preparation that goes in to shooting vehicles on location, and the importance of professional valets.
Also, I discuss how personal work has had an impact on my commissioned work, and why it is so important.
The portraits were lit with a single battery powered Profoto 7B flash and soft box. The wind and rain on some of the shoot days were an enjoyable challenge!
